NZ Angels on a par with USA

July 16^th, Auckland, New Zealand: Angel investing in New Zealand is now on a similar scale to that of Boston - one of the United States' prime Angel investing hubs - according to noted USA Angel investor Bill Payne.

Mr Payne, one of the United States' foremost Angel investors, has concluded a five month stay in NewZealand as the BNZ University of Auckland Business School Entrepreneur In Residence advising investors,entrepreneurs and students.

Mr Payne prepared a report for the New Zealand Venture Investment Fund providing reflections based on his observations of New Zealand entrepreneurs and Angel groups during his visit.

Australia Ranks 5^th in Competitiveness Survey

May 19^th, Lausanne, Switzerland: Leading Swiss business school IMD, "International Institute for Management Development" has been ranked by the Financial Times as No.1 outside the USA and No.2 worldwide (2008-2010) for Executive Education. IMD operates the World Competitiveness Center (WCC). The WCC develops and publishes the World Competitiveness Yearbook (WCY) in which it ranks and analyzes the ability of nations to create and maintain an environment in which enterprises can compete.

In Australia, the WCY data is developed in partnership with the Committee for Economic Development of Australia (CEDA). See the rankings that put Australia in 5^th place and examine the history for Australia in this ranking system that shows we are still struggling to address our infrastructure.

AAAI signs National Agreement with Angelsoft

May 6^th, San Francisco: While attending and speaking at the ACA Summit, AAAI Chairman John Mactaggart and Deputy Chairman Jordan Green finalised negotiations with Angelsoft founder & CEO David Rose. The AAAI has signed an agreement with Angelsoft that secures free access to this unique collaboration platform for all AAAI affiliated Angel Groups in Australia. Angelsoft has committed to work closely with the AAAI to realise software developments and features that are of particular relevance to the way in which Australian Angel Groups operate. This is another in a growing number of high value benefits that the AAAI is developing for its members.

This valuable benefit for AAAI members will save them thousands of dollars in software subscription fees while delivering privileged access to each other and to more than 500 Angel groups and venture capital firms around the world who use the Angelsoft platform.

Syndication and cross border investment continue to be hot topics for Angel investors in most jurisdictions, even more so for Australian Angels who are accustomed to expecting our entrepreneurs to build their companies in the larger foreign markets.
